Who we are
Klein Farms began with just a few Angus cows and a father-son dream. In 2010, I started raising cattle alongside my dad, learning the ropes and falling in love with the work. By 2017, I decided to take the leap and start a herd of my own. I headed to a fast-paced fall auction, hoping to buy 30 cows—and left with 39. Fitting them all on the trailer was a tight squeeze, but thankfully, they made it home.
That first winter, we converted a pen in our old bank barn to house the herd. When spring came, my youngest brother and a few close friends helped me fence off 50 acres of pasture. With my grandpa and a good friend’s help, we built a working pen for caring for the cows and weaning calves.
We sold our first freezer beef in 2018 to a couple of friends from church—and the business has grown steadily ever since.
In 2019, I married Heidi, and together we spent the early years of our marriage building fences and chasing cows. Our family has grown along with the farm. Our daughter Jaimie, born in 2020, loves feeding the cows and isn’t afraid to hop in the pen to help. Alice came along in 2022 and especially enjoys calving season—she’s quiet but loves watching the babies and naming every calf. In fact, both girls take pride in telling customers which cow they’re eating by name!
That same year, a storm blew the roof off our barn, so we built a brand-new one for the cows to shelter in through the winter. In 2024, we welcomed our son, Simon, who now “helps” at chore time by tossing handfuls of corn and sampling the feed himself.
For the last few years, we’ve been growing our herd by keeping more heifers, and we’re on track to reach 80 cows by 2029. It’s been an incredible journey—one built on faith, family, and a deep commitment to raising cattle the right way.
From our family to yours—thanks for being part of our story.
